“A Long Vernal Season” on An Archive of Our Own

I’ve been steadily publishing A Long Vernal Season to An Archive of Our Own, and it’s posted through Part Eight (Chapter Eighty-Eight: Back to Brewing).

“A Long Vernal Season” now posting to An Archive of Our Own

Now that I’ve archived all of my completed fics on AO3, I’m posting my works-in-progress, beginning with A Long Vernal Season.

It will take a while for the story on AO3 to catch up with where it is on TPP — I have posted the first thirteen chapters so far — but I hope to post between 10 and 15 chapters each day, when I’m able, until they are caught up, then I will begin posting the other WIPs.

I’m excited about being able to offer readers an additional archive to read my stories on.

On Hope in “Death’s Dominion”

Death's Dominion thumbnail“There is no hope for me. I feel it. I know it. There will come a moment … I have no hope, not for me, not for anyone. I do not know why I continue,” Severus said […]

“There is always hope, Severus, even if it is not for ourselves,” Minerva said. “No matter the setbacks or the defeats, there is always hope. We will not surrender to despair, we will not capitulate to Darkness. Even should we die, we will die with hope for tomorrow. Even in our final breath, we will know that our triumph will come. We will die with that hope in our hearts, if we must, but today, we shall live in it. Even should he win the day, that pathetic little toe-rag who fancies himself a lord of wizards, even then, we will know that it will not last. Hope will shine before us always, an eternal star that urges us forward even as we pass through the valley of despair. So proceed with hope, Severus, not only with regret and recriminations, no matter where it leads you, even if it leads you into darkness and death. Hope will be there. Remember it and look to its light even if you breathe your last, and that hope will carry you beyond the darkness. Hope, love, faith: they together shall vanquish the Dark, and it is in us that they live.”

“And when we are dead?” Severus asked, morose and cynical. “Where, then, is that hope? Where, then, love?” Continue reading

Completed Works on An Archive of Our Own: “Resolving a Misunderstanding” and “A Holiday with the Headmaster”

Resolving a Misunderstanding banner for ADMM ficResolving a Misunderstanding is now completely uploaded to An Archive of Our Own, as is A Holiday with the Headmaster, a story that takes place towards the end of Resolving a Misunderstanding.

For descriptions of these fics, see the listing of all my stories here, or see the full table of contents with chapter summaries for Resolving a Misunderstanding, or the table of contents for A Holiday with the Headmaster.  For more information about the “RaMverse” in general, take a look at the Compendium of Information.

A Holiday with the Headmaster bannerWith the final update to Resolving a Misunderstanding, all of my completed stories are now available on An Archive of Our Own, including the first novella in the “Stray” series, which is being posted as a single, chaptered fic on the Petulant Poetess.

I am considering beginning to upload my works-in-progress, likely beginning with Charming the Scottish Garden. However, since I want to make more progress on my works-in-progress, I am not going to do that for a while yet.

My hands are beginning to get better, and I can now type for more than a few paragraphs at a time without pain, so I’m hopeful that the next update of A Long Vernal Season will be forthcoming in the next week or so!

Want to weigh in on what’s next?

Anyone looking for new chapters or stories, I’m hoping to be able to write a little bit at a time and update at least one of my fics before the month of March is gone. I see a hand specialist in a few days, so I don’t know whether I will be more or less incapacitated after that! But I’m hopeful that it will help, in the long run if not in the short.

Vote in this poll for which fic I update first, OR if you have an LJ account, stop by there and vote. (No voting twice, please! :) )
