How to Starve a Troll. (From WordPress.com’s “Daily Post.”)
Good advice here. I only had one troll on this blog, ever, and she/he followed me from another site. However, I’ve encountered trolls elsewhere, and have seen them in action on others’ forums and blogs, and I agree that “Don’t Feed the Troll” is as sound advice today as it was when I first heard it many years ago. An entire thread can be hijacked by the troll and those arguing with it. Some may find that fun, but since I don’t, I agree with WordPress’s advice just to silently remove trolling posts. It’s your blog, and you have the right to decide what sort of commenting and conversation you want to permit and encourage, right?
