New Story Posted: “He Calls My Name”

I had a great time participating in the Christmas 2015 Hoggywarty party — though I still haven’t finished reviewing the fics I’ve read! There are so many good ones this year.

I’ve posted the fic I wrote as a gift to dueltastic both to AO3 and to TPP, and it’s available, of course, at the Hoggywarty site as well.

This story as well as “Discovery” will also eventually be posted to ffnet.

He Calls My Name (on An Archive of Our Own)

Summary: One cold winter night, she hears him call her name.

Rated PG (rating may rise to R on TPP if I begin getting spam in the comments)
Characters: Minerva McGonagall, Severus Snape, others
Warnings: none
Genre: Romance, Friendship

Also available on the Petulant Poetess.

Almost two years …

It’s been a while since I’ve blogged or done anything related to HP fanfic, but it was still something of a shock to see the date of my last post and realize that I’ve been away from this blog for  almost two years.

I’m hoping that will change in the near future, and to get things rolling, I’ve posted a new Minerva story, “Discovery,” which I wrote for the last, and final, Minerva Fest this autumn. You can read it, and other wonderful Minerva-centric fics, over at Minerva Fest on LiveJournal, but I’ve also posted it to An Archive of Our Own and The Petulant Poetess, and will be posting to fanfiction.net, so you have your choice of places to read it.

“Discovery”

Summary: When young Minerva gets herself into a fix in her Animagus guise, she learns a few good lessons. Not Pottermore compliant. Please note that this story presumes an earlier birth year for Minerva (approximately 1924), making her a contemporary of Tom Riddle. Written for Minerva Fest 2015.

Rated PG.
Length: approx. 3500 words

Speaking of the Petulant Poetess archive, the last fic I wrote and posted before my hiatus, “Comfort and Joy,” is being featured this month during their celebration of the archive’s tenth anniversary. Congratulations to TPP, and thanks for providing a place for reading and posting HP fanfic for so many years! And, of course, thank you for featuring “Comfort and Joy” in your December 2015 “Lumos!”

“Comfort and Joy” Posted

I’ve posted “Comfort and Joy” to An Archive of Our Own and the Petulant today. I wrote the story for the HoggyWarty Christmas party and gift exchange.

“Comfort and Joy”
Summary: Minerva isn’t feeling very much Christmas cheer when the holiday begins, and it looks only to become gloomier. Set at Christmas 1980.
Pottermore disregarded.
Characters: Minerva McGonagall, Albus Dumbledore, Poppy Pomfrey, a variety of other characters
Rating: PG/T

“Comfort and Joy” on the Petulant Poetess.

Thank you — “Making a Memory” places in Rare Pair Drabble Category

I just discovered that my Remus/Lily drabble, “Making a Memory,” received third place in the HP Fanfic Fan Poll Awards for Fall/Winter 2013-14. Here’s the pretty banner they gave me!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Fan Poll Awards, from the organizers, the nominators, the authors, and the voters! Check out the poll results if you’re looking for some new, highly recommended fanfic to read.

To read the entire series of Remus Lupin drabbles, of which “Making a Memory” is the second, hop over to “Being Remus” on either An Archive of Our Own or TPP.
