Almost two years …

It’s been a while since I’ve blogged or done anything related to HP fanfic, but it was still something of a shock to see the date of my last post and realize that I’ve been away from this blog for almost two years.

I’m hoping that will change in the near future, and to get things rolling, I’ve posted a new Minerva story, “Discovery,” which I wrote for the last, and final, Minerva Fest this autumn. You can read it, and other wonderful Minerva-centric fics, over at Minerva Fest on LiveJournal, but I’ve also posted it to An Archive of Our Own and The Petulant Poetess, and will be posting to fanfiction.net, so you have your choice of places to read it.

“Discovery”

Summary: When young Minerva gets herself into a fix in her Animagus guise, she learns a few good lessons. Not Pottermore compliant. Please note that this story presumes an earlier birth year for Minerva (approximately 1924), making her a contemporary of Tom Riddle. Written for Minerva Fest 2015.

Rated PG.
Length: approx. 3500 words

Speaking of the Petulant Poetess archive, the last fic I wrote and posted before my hiatus, “Comfort and Joy,” is being featured this month during their celebration of the archive’s tenth anniversary. “Comfort and Joy” Posted

I’ve posted “Comfort and Joy” to An Archive of Our Own and the Petulant today. I wrote the story for the HoggyWarty Christmas party and gift exchange.

“Comfort and Joy”
Summary: Minerva isn’t feeling very much Christmas cheer when the holiday begins, and it looks only to become gloomier. Set at Christmas 1980.
Pottermore disregarded.
Characters: Minerva McGonagall, Albus Dumbledore, Poppy Pomfrey, a variety of other characters
Rating: PG/T

Completed Works on An Archive of Our Own: “Resolving a Misunderstanding” and “A Holiday with the Headmaster”

Resolving a Misunderstanding is now completely uploaded to An Archive of Our Own, as is A Holiday with the Headmaster, a story that takes place towards the end of Resolving a Misunderstanding.

With the final update to Resolving a Misunderstanding, all of my completed stories are now available on An Archive of Our Own, including the first novella in the “Stray” series, which is being posted as a single, chaptered fic on the Petulant Poetess.

I am considering beginning to upload my works-in-progress, likely beginning with Charming the Scottish Garden. However, since I want to make more progress on my works-in-progress, I am not going to do that for a while yet.

My hands are beginning to get better, and I can now type for more than a few paragraphs at a time without pain, so I’m hopeful that the next update of A Long Vernal Season will be forthcoming in the next week or so!
